Under the theme of ‘Countering the push-back’, representatives from Member States met alongside civil society to assess the current landscape of LGBTI rights and freedoms, and to devise strategic partnerships that respond to, and tackle, the foremost challenges affecting people of diverse SOGIESC around the globe.
During the two-day conference (plus a day extra for the CSO Preconference), attendees had the opportunity to attend insightful plenary sessions from key stakeholders in this mechanism and across the landscape of the defence of human rights at different scales. As well, attendees participated in sessions from our four Thematic Groups on key areas of interest regarding the rights of LGBTI persons and the state of LGBTI rights worldwide. There was also an exciting social programme built into the Conference that ensured attendees maximized their engagement and networking opportunities.
