Humanitarian Protection

Recognizing the repeated calls from member states of the Equal Rights Coalition (ERC) since 2022 to establish a space for dialogue on the specific humanitarian protection needs of LGBTQI+ people, and acknowledging the growing impact of the anti-gender movement in generating crises that disproportionately affect these populations, this group seeks to establish a specialized space within the ERC system to address the critical protection challenges faced by LGBTQI+ individuals in humanitarian crisis contexts, including armed conflicts, forced displacement, natural disasters, and climate-related emergencies.
